The Cayman Islands is an autonomous British Overseas Territory in the western Caribbean Sea, made up of three islands – Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac. Known for its beautiful crystal clear waters, anyone living here will be spending a fair amount of time on the beach and in the water. Properties are always designed for the ground they stand on and these villas spell beach elegance. The windows were designed to be as large as possible so that every single room has views of the striking scenery. UDesign were responsible for both the architecture and design of the homes in this project.
The kitchen and living area are the absolute width of the houses so you get as much view as is physically possible. Not one centimetre has been wasted.
The inspiration for the interior design comes from the colours of the island itself – fresh, light and bright with splashes of bold colours. Colours from the outside environment have been bought into the home – the colours of the sea, from the pink sands to bleached driftwood to sparkling turquoise waters. The homes are full of art – not just hanging on the walls – but in the designer furniture and exquisite materials.
